Himalayan Rock Salt

Sodium is an essential part of a healthy, balanced diet[1]. Himalayan rock salt has been shown to have less sodium than regular table salt. In a teaspoon comparison (6g), Himalayan has 300mg lower sodium than table salt, which has around 2,300mg of sodium[2]. It is recommended to moderate sodium intake to 2,300mg a day [3], as sodium imbalance in the diet (excess or inadequate sodium intake) has been linked with cardiovascular disease risk [1]. Pink Himalayan rock salt has also been shown to contain more trace minerals, although they are still in small amounts[4].
